Okay for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a Hisense 43A7NQTUK last year. Was waiting for an Insiders' campaign to try a newer model. For the price and what's a higher spec model (hard to figure out, but we went for the most expensive in the campaign), it's not much different. At least picture is as good on the larger screen. Excellent UHD content available via streaming apps. Even our satellite tv provide cannot supply UHD on any homes' 2nd box. TV is very good with 4K wildlife shows. Struggles with grass & sometimes reds on football matches. Has light bands of green on either vertical side, just as the 43A7NQTUK disappointingly did (we returned it under warranty, as assumed was faulty, but it wasn't fixed). Considering getting a tv through a campaign should provide a large discount on the retail price, we hoped to be a little more pleased. It's perfectly adequate for what we paid, but would've waited for a more premium model. Though it's hard to know which ones are, to be exact

A whole new viewing experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow my new TV arrived and the perfect size for me. 50" of perfect viewing. Very easy set up. Perfect for not only watching programmes on TV but also an excellent Tv for avid gamers with Native 144Hz game mode which is great when playing fast paced games. I have noticed far less glitches which is great and causes less frustration. Great colour and sound, the built in subwoofer i wouls suggest gives you that cinema experience when watching a film. Great TV and really happy with my purchase.

Impressive picture, but only straight on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this TV for a bit now and overall, I’m really impressed with what you get for the money, though it has a couple of minor quirks. ​Setting it up was a breeze. It’s surprisingly light, so getting it out of the box and sorted wasn't a struggle at all. One thing to note if you are wall-mounting: Hisense doesn't include the actual mounting screws in the box. Luckily, my wall mount came with its own set, so it wasn't an issue for me, but it's worth keeping in mind. ​When you are sitting directly in front of the screen, the picture quality is excellent, the colors look fantastic and really pop. However, I did notice the viewing angle issue that others have mentioned. If you move too far off to the side, the colors definitely start to lose their saturation and the screen looks a bit washed out. So it's best suited for a setup where you can view it straight on. ​The sound is quite impressive for a slim TV. You usually expect to need a soundbar immediately with these things, but the built-in audio holds its own. ​On the smart side of things, the Freely integration is great for streaming live TV over Wi-Fi without an aerial. The interface is snappy, and the remote has handy shortcut buttons to all the regularly used apps, which makes jumping into Netflix or YouTube dead easy. My only real daily annoyance is a slight delay when switching channels on Freely, it just takes a fraction of a second too long to register, which can test your patience if you're a channel hopper. ​Minor niggles aside, it’s a great TV and feels like a massive upgrade. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for premium features without the massive premium price tag.

Good value tv

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll admit it: buying a new TV these days feels less like shopping and more like trying to decode a secret government project. Every model number sounds like a Wi-Fi password, every advert promises “cinematic immersion”, and every review online seems written by either a robot or someone who calibrates screens for fun. Enter the Hisense 50Q8STUK — a television with a name that sounds like a rejected Star Wars droid but, thankfully, turns out to be a pretty decent bit of kit. We bought this TV with the usual expectations most normal people have: we wanted something that looked good, sounded good, didn’t cost the same as a small family car, and wouldn’t make us immediately regret our life choices five minutes after plugging it in. On those points, the Hisense largely delivers. The first thing that stands out is the picture quality. It’s bright, colourful, and genuinely impressive for the price. Some TVs claim to have “vivid colours” and then produce a picture that makes every human being look mildly unwell. This one actually gets it right most of the time. Nature documentaries look fantastic, animated films pop nicely, and even everyday TV somehow feels slightly more dramatic. Watching a baking competition suddenly looks like the contestants are fighting for survival in a gladiator arena because the colours are so punchy and crisp. Black levels are decent too, especially considering this isn’t one of those eye-wateringly expensive OLED sets people remortgage their homes to buy. Dark scenes in films still have good detail instead of turning into a murky blob where you spend twenty minutes wondering who just got punched. It handles contrast surprisingly well and gives a generally premium feel despite the very non-premium price tag. And honestly, that’s probably the biggest compliment this TV deserves: it feels more expensive than it actually is. Hisense has become very good at producing televisions for people who want the “nice TV experience” without needing to survive on instant noodles for the next six months. You get a lot for your money here. Unless you’re the kind of person who spends weekends arguing about refresh rates online, most people would probably be more than happy with the overall performance. The sound was another pleasant surprise. Normally, modern TVs seem to come with speakers designed by people who actively hate audio. You either get dialogue quieter than a whisper or explosions loud enough to alert neighbouring counties.
