Great scales.
Nice scales. Do the job. Easy to set up and read. Glass, easy to wipe clean. This is the second set I've bought as a spare one as the first one is great and works perfectly. So this second one is just a spare incase the first one breaks or stops working. Love the colour of this. Matches my kitchen perfectly as I love black utensils and utilities. Not too big or bulky so easy to store, or keep on the bench. I use minmine to portion out every meal I have. They work great. Needs batteries and I've had mine a while now and the batteries I first put in are still going strong so batteries last a long time.

Does not weigh correctly
Disappointing does not measure the weight correctly when you grate cheese into a bowl on the scales. If you grate 50g of cheese it shows 0g. Our old Slater scales weighed this correctly. Salter seem to have gone downhill.

Brilliant but buttons could be better
It is good however it doesn't zero as easily as you would like. Chose it because I can use rechargeable batteries in it as many of them now run on button batteries and this one still takes AAA.

"The battery compartment is fitted with a screw, it can be opened with a mini screwdriver or a PH000 screwdriver."

Our supplier says "The scales do not show negative readings however, the only reason that a scale would show a negative value is when you add something to the weighing, then zero it and then remove it. It should show the negative weight of the things you were measuring."

I have checked with the supplier who confirms:
Salter High Capacity Scale 845/5121 is definitely Salter model 1160 BKDR and the Dimensions are 2 x 16.5 x 20cm

The battery life is dependent on your usage and brand of batteries but should be approximately 1 year based on 5 minutes of use per day.

Have used for 5 months and have not changed 2x AAA batteries. I looked for batteries other than the CR2032 type as I was constantly changing batteries on a couple of digital scales using this type. The scale is very positive when selecting unit type and turning on and off. Very pleased with my purchase.
