Gives a different reading every time I stand on it! Every time I get off it needs to be set back to zero again. Terrible product, I don’t recommend.

Bought recently, 4/5 stars Good, the only drawback is it is not possible e.g. to read between say 10 st and 10st 7 whilst standing upright on scales because the finer divisions cannot be seen.For that reason go for the much more expensive model which has a raised and magnified viewing area unless like me you are happy to make an approx guess as to the reading or purchase a handheld monocular eyeglass viewer.

The product is well designed and appears to work well. It was easy to order and collect. However, the product packaging was not sealed and looked as if it had been opened before I received it. If you didn't do your homework on this item you might find it to be much bigger than you expected and might return it. Receiving unsealed products ordered online seems to be a growing issue across all suppliers.

The instructions for use of the Salter Mechanical Bathroom Scales - Black state that the scales should be used on a firm, flat surface. On balance, we would say that use on carpets is not suitable however the only way to compare would be to try them out on a hard floor and then the carpet (as carpets can be variable), to see if the weights were comparable.
