Closing the door would depend on the space available at the top of the door and door frame. If there is enough space and the door is not tight fitting at the top then the door would close.

Im not answering the original question as it was from 2020 but it may be helpful to anyone else reading this. I just bought these, they measure 44mm so will fit a 44mm door. My doors are 40mm and they slip and slide and rattle when opening and closing the door. They would benefit from a rubber grommet at the back to stop this.
