A really nice looking piece of furniture, if a little difficult to assemble. After spending a few hours building the desk, and getting to the final stage, one of the drawer runners completely collapsed and shed barings all over the floor.
Now the fun began.
I contacted Argos customer care, to ask for replacement runners, even offered photos of the issue, only to be told had to dismantle the full unit, carry it all back downstairs, back into the car, and return the full item. All this over a set of runners which are £10 from amazon, which I bought and solved the issue.
It’s a nice looking, sturdy piece of furniture, at a reasonable price, but cost is obviously saved on the accessories, and I think it’s a shame.

I quite like this desk - it looks good and works well. But it takes a surprising amount of time and skill to assemble. 44 steps - and each step is quite complex in itself! Be honest with yourself: are you a keen handyperson who enjoys lengthy home assembly puzzles? If you are, you will enjoy assembling this desk. But if you just want a desk, this is not for you.
