About this product
Uncover the origins of organised crime in Mafia: The Old Country, a gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily.
This thrilling narrative is brought to life by stunning visuals, cinematic storytelling, and the authentic realism that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for. Enzo's story unfolds in a time when skill with a stiletto blade was a deadly asset, a lupara sawed-off shotgun was a go-to firearm, murderous vendettas raged for decades, and mafiosi patrolled their protection rackets on foot, horseback, or behind the wheel of turn-of-the-century motorcars.
The rough-hewn beauty of Sicily's rugged countryside is a stark contrast to the grime of urban alleyways – but the treachery and violence of this gangland run just as deep. You're the antihero of this thrilling 1900s story, living out every tense moment of Enzo's descent into Sicily's clandestine criminal underworld. Engage in life-or-death combat, be it up close with a blade or from afar with a variety of firearms. Traverse a wide range of Sicilian environments.

Did not finish all, but beautifully made, interesting story line. Not open world (can travel if want between missions, but done more to go from one to another)

Another Mafia classic
If you’ve played any other games in the Mafia series then you will feel right at home from the start. If you like running around an open world map getting killed every twenty seconds or so then this game isn’t for you. The game is very much a ‘slow burner’ and takes you on a journey through the early years of a Mafia family. Game play is very linear with few chances to roam around. This helps to concentrate more on the story and it works well. You play the part of ‘Enzo’ who is very much a slave forced to undertake dangerous work in the mines. When the opportunity arises, he manages to escape and accidentally gets found by the local Mafia boss. Enzo gets taken under the wing and has to prove his worth by undertaking ‘jobs’ which normally involve removing the bosses enemies from his Christmas card list. Starting off with small tasks, you develop your skills and can purchase knives, shotguns, rifles to help with your missions. Weapons can also be found by looting the bodies of fallen enemies. Money, ammunition and the odd hand grenade can also be found this way. Don’t get too distracted farming loot as you often forget there are other enemies nearby who will happily send you to the great Pizza Hut in the sky in an instant. Gameplay is slower paced with a great story, nice cut scenes and some fantastic scenery and detailed buildings, horses, cars and so much more. Hats off to the developers for creating such a fantastic environment for this game. It’s such a shame that you miss so many of these details as you ride or drive through the map. The music is also pitched just right and adds to the enjoyment of the game rather than trying too hard to get noticed. During the game, you get to ride horses; drive cars and enter races using both. Knife fights take time to master and the many shootouts are very similar in feel to “Uncharted’ and ‘Tomb Raider’. Completing a mission successfully depends on sneaking around armed with just a throwing knife, to full on shootouts with any weapons you can find. Certain missions are completed more easily if you have the correct weapon to start with. If you don’t, then looting is the best option to find something that works best for you. Overall this is a great addition to the Mafia series. If you like it then other titles in the series are available at bargain prices if you shop around. I would like to thank the developers for selling this game at a price that is far better on people’s pocket. Hopefully this will lead to big sales for them and show others that a high price point is not always the best way to increase revenue. A great game. Great story. Superb graphics, and a music score which add to the very pleasurable time spent playing. Highly recommended.
