Decided to try a smart speaker, bought this as it was on sale. Sound is pretty good for a small unit but use it through larger speakers via Bluetooth connection. Bit hit and miss regarding spoken instructions/response but okay for an inexpensive price.

A lot more fun than an old radio
This is my third Echo Dot, which speaks for itself. However, to my disappointment, all three are out of sync with each other by up to several seconds, as well as the 40+ sec delay compared with the analogue broadcast signal. Ignore the poor battery life. I believe there is no battery in it! And how could I rate that anyway, as I've just bought it. Idiotic question.

However this will depend on the strength of your Wifi signal and anything in the environment that could block it (such as electrical equipment).
