Does the Job!
Placed alongside the main water tank in the loft in case of a leak. It works through wifi and alerts through an app on my phone, which is linked to a plug-in mini-hub. Very easy to set up and tested to ensure it works.

Works as intended.
After having a leak under the bath we decided to get one of these sensors so we notice it when its happening, rather than days/weeks later as the water starts to run down into the floor below. The sensor takes seconds to setupmon the app and is then ready to go, I've tested it to make sure we recognised the sound it makes if it does trigger and its an audible alarm which is obvious but not crazy loud. Overall should mpdo what we want it to do, ideal solution for hidden pipework like behind a bath panel!

Bought this water leak sensor after having a leak at the water tank and have tested it by placing in a dish of water and it worked with no issue

It works in an Operating Temperature 0~40ºC / 32~104ºF and an Operating Humidity of 0%~99%RH.
Its got an IP67 Waterproof Rating. IP67 waterproofing protects from wet and dusty environments.
It's not really designed as a rain detector though. It'll detect the presence of water but it's not really intended to provide weather data. It's for thing like leaks.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link Tapo T300 Smart Water Leak Sensor: ''This water leak sensor must be used with the Tapo Hub. The Tapo H100 and Tapo H200 are both compatible with it.''

You need the hub for this to work. The Argos description of the water leak detector is very misleading and should be addressed.
