About this product
This washable mat tackles spills and muddy footprints without the faff of professional cleaning. The 100% polypropylene pile absorbs up to four times its own weight in water, so it handles wet shoes, splashes and everyday mess with ease. The non-slip rubber backing keeps it firmly in place on hard floors, which means no sliding about when you're rushing through the hallway or kitchen. It's British designed and made, with a teal shade that adds a splash of colour to any room without overwhelming the space.
The pile is soft underfoot but hard wearing enough for high-traffic areas like doorways and utility rooms. “ Yes, the backing is black but it should not stain the carpet. But, to be on the side of caution,if the rug had been washed I wouldn’t put a damp rug down on the carpet I would make sure its dry first. ”

I had the same problem. It does make it easier if the rug is wet as the backing becomes softer, therefore with a lot of pushing and adjusting it is possible to push it inside most washing machines. It takes me about 10 minutes to get the dry rug inside my washing machine but once the washing cycle starts the rug softens even more so it will wash it well. Hope this helps.

Without knowing the size of your washing machine it is difficult to comment. If the rug is folded twice, this may help but wetting it first should not make any real difference
