About this product
This washable mat handles wet feet and muddy paws without sliding about or leaving stains behind. It sits nicely by the front door, in the hallway, or anywhere that gets heavy traffic and damp footfall. “ Yes, the backing is black but it should not stain the carpet. But, to be on the side of caution,if the rug had been washed I wouldn’t put a damp rug down on the carpet I would make sure its dry first. ”

I had the same problem. It does make it easier if the rug is wet as the backing becomes softer, therefore with a lot of pushing and adjusting it is possible to push it inside most washing machines. It takes me about 10 minutes to get the dry rug inside my washing machine but once the washing cycle starts the rug softens even more so it will wash it well. Hope this helps.

Without knowing the size of your washing machine it is difficult to comment. If the rug is folded twice, this may help but wetting it first should not make any real difference
