This set gives your little ones the perfect introduction to Swingball. The tangle free spinner makes sure the ball height stays steady and stops it from becoming twisted around the pole. The soft foam ball is easy for children to hit and propel with less force. It also gives you an All Surface base so you can play anywhere you have enough space. The base converts into a carry case afterwards making it easy to transport.

Fun in back garden
Bought this mainly for my 4 year old nephew to practise hand eye coordination and ball games in back garden during lovely hot summer. Easy to put up, sometimes difficult to get the ball to "swing" round properly, more often seemed to go straight across rather than in a circle. However good fun and good prep for more advanced model.

Not the best
Good price but a bit cheaply made. The string/ball doesn't move very well around the pole, it seems a bit stiff. Has caused a lot of frustration when trying to play.

Thanks for your query about the Early Fun Swingball All Surface.
The instructions do not list specific rules and there are a number of sets of unofficial rules for the playing of swingball. If the children are young enough or if it's intended simply for a bit of practice and exercise, they may just enjoy hitting it to each other.
In other cases, the ball touching the pole when you hit it could be seen as some kind of penalty or loss of the game if the intention of the game is to avoid that.
It's not the type of pole with the spiral top, which is the type more likely to often cause the cord to wrap around the pole (in some variants of the game, when this happens to the point where it can't be hit anymore, this is seen as the end of the game). In the relatively unlikely event this happens with this particular one, you could perhaps declare a winner based on that.
Personally I would say this would be too small for 8 year old. I have it for my 2 12 year old grandson and ideal for little one .

The height of this is 125 cm, so if your child is much taller than that then thy may find this too small.
