Slow
I'm a photographer and use it to edit but this drive is so unbelievably slow it's put me behind on my work.

It’s fine.
It’s a bit expensive but it’s a huge amount of storage and works straight out the box with no setup. Data transfer also seems pretty fast.

Expensive but excellent. Happy with the purchase.

No IPad Pro support
It is version 2 and it still does not work with IPad Pro. By default it is formatted as ExFAT, IPad can see it but there is no way to create nor move a folder onto this SSD. You can easily change the format to APFS and then the IPad does not see it at all. Works perfectly fine on Android devices, regardless of chosen disk format.

Perfect for back-ups and portable storage
Very much pocket sized and feels quality made. Pretty decent transfer speeds. I bought this to back up files from my old pc to transfer to a new pc, and as a long term back-up storage solution. Surprisingly small drive, will fit easily in a pocket or bag for portable use.

Super Fast, Compact, and Reliable!
I’ve been using the SanDisk V2 1TB Portable SSD for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. The speed is excellent – transferring large files takes seconds, not minutes. It’s perfect for backing up videos, photos, and work documents quickly. The compact design makes it easy to carry around in a pocket or bag, and the build feels sturdy and durable with its rubberized texture.

This is possible.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello,
The "V2" on the SanDisk 1TB Portable SSD designates it as the second generation (version 2) of that specific product line. This update represents a significant hardware shift, moving from older SATA-based technology to modern NVMe technology, which nearly doubles the performance of the previous generation.
Have a nice day!
Hello SB,
From the information we have available, I can advise the SanDisk V2 1TB Portable SSD is compatible with Linux Ubuntu. You can use it for various purposes, such as installing the operating system or using it as an external storage device.
However, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
- Booting Issues: If you plan to boot Ubuntu from the SSD, ensure your computer supports legacy/MBR booting, as EFI (BIOS) might have trouble recognizing the boot loader.
