About this product
The Habitat Stars Single Bed gives kids their own space to sleep and a handy drawer underneath for storing toys, dress-up clothes, or extra bedding. It's made from solid wood with end panels that keep everything sturdy, even with daily use. The chunky cut-out stars and bevelled edges add character to the room. The white painted finish works with most bedroom colours. It comes with a Habitat Kids Rae Comfort Open Coil Single Mattress that's hypoallergenic and free from foam and chemical treatments, that's good for growing children's sleep.
The drawer runs on castors with cut-out star handles, so there's nothing to bump into. Wooden slats support the mattress and keep air flowing through. The mattress has 323 springs with a knit cover and medium support. It's single-sided, so you just rotate it now and then to even out wear. The bed's been tested to British and European safety standards and holds up to 120kg. Recommended for kids aged 4 and over. Two people needed for assembly, all fixings provided. Two-year guarantee included.

A really lovely bed, but wish slats were better
Easy to build and put up. The drawer surprised me with quality, it is solid and really easy to use; not sure how the difficulties others seem to have had happened, as it’s smooth and easy with ours! I do feel for the price, two should have been included or one that goes the full width of the bed. Design is really lovely, height perfect for any child, any user really, it’s just right. The detail in the wood, the quality of the white pieces, really pleased. there was one area where it had not been fully sprayed white but mostly covered; I didn’t return as the same could happen again and we needed the bed. Downpoints, The slats do not seem strong at all. This bed supposedly goes up to adults, I worry genuinely it won’t take the weight. Lots of creaking when using the bed, hoping it settles with time. The mattress included, my son says he’s comfy on it, but I’d say, I’ve had much much better. It seems thin and not of the best quality. Overall, if the slats had been right, all sections flawless and paint not chipped when screwing the bed together I’d have given 5 stars. I would recommend it and I would say it’s really lovely and much better than others. I just wish that the time and care taken on the rest of the bed had also been taken on making the slats for it.

Solid wood bed, very sturdy and well made.
Lovely solid bed. Fairly easy to put together if you follow the instructions. I put it up by myself which meant it took longer so it would be easier with help but it was still fairly straightforward. Bed itself feels very secure and takes a good weight for when the toddler wakes in the night and I need to bunk up with them!

Lovely design and very strudy
Purchased this bed for our daughter transitioning from a cot bed. The bed is lower than standard single beds which is reassuring. The bed has a nice design with the stars on the headboard and drawer. The bed is also very strudy and feels as it is of good quality. Assembly is a bit tricky and would definitely require two people to assemble due to its weight.

The supplier has advised the following for the Stars Single Bed and Silentnight Mattress - White:
There are no safety requirements for there being a maximum mattress depth/thickness for this Stars single bed. You can use whatever thickness mattress you prefer with this 190x90cm single bed. So, a 26cm deep mattress would be OK.
(They add the following info too. There are no safety guards on the single bed, as there are on mid sleepers and bunk beds with bed base of a minimum of 60cm above the floor. On those bed types there must be a minimum of 16cm from the top of the mattress to the top edge of the safety guards to prevent the kids falling out of the bed).

Hello Aimsie, most child safety guards slide under the mattress and are held in place by it. As there are no side rails or any other object of construction to prevent a guard being slid under the mattress, then a bed guard will be fine to use on this bed.
