This is a great little build and fun to make. Goes really well with the Rescue Helicopter #42145

Great toy
I bought this for my seven year-old nephew and he was delighted! He's played with it a lot and he loves deconstructing and then rebuilding it. It's sturdy and seems well-designed. Perfect for kids who love to see how things work.

Love LEGO
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LEGO City Deep-Sea Research Submarine is an exciting and immersive set that delivers both a fun building experience and fantastic play value. As a fan of ocean exploration, I loved the attention to detail—from the removable cockpit and mechanical arms to the mini deep-sea drone and glow-in-the-dark anglerfish. The submarine’s size is impressive without being overwhelming, and the six detailed minifigures, complete with deep-sea diving suits, add to the adventure. The build was engaging, taking me around 2.5 hours, and the finished model feels sturdy and well-designed. Though I was initially hesitant about the price, the variety of features, accessories, and creative elements make it well worth it. Whether you’re a collector or just love underwater exploration, this set is a fantastic addition to any LEGO collection!

The Lego Deep-Sea Research Submarine is a detailed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently built the Lego Deep-Sea Research Submarine, and I absolutely loved it! The packaging was top-notch, with everything neatly organized and clearly labeled, making it easy to dive straight into the fun. The box art was vibrant and set the tone for what promised to be an exciting build. When I opened the box, I found the instruction manual to be straightforward, guiding me step-by-step through the process. The pieces were high-quality, and the attention to detail was impressive, with tiny elements that really made the submarine feel authentic. The assembly process was both relaxing and enjoyable. Each stage was well-paced, allowing me to appreciate the design while slowly piecing everything together. I loved the little surprises along the way—like adding the tiny fish and sea creatures that came with the set! The deeper I got into the build, the more I appreciated the intricacy of the design. The sub itself came together beautifully, and I could really see the craftsmanship that went into creating a model that felt both realistic and fun. Once the build was complete, I was so impressed with the finished product. The submarine looked amazing, with its movable parts, detailed underwater accessories, and vibrant colors. It was so much fun to look at and imagine it exploring the ocean depths! The entire experience, from start to finish, was incredibly satisfying. Whether you're a seasoned Lego enthusiast or new to the hobby, I highly recommend the Lego Deep-Sea Research Submarine. It's an awesome way to relax, challenge yourself, and end up with a stunning display piece!

Great addition to my collection.
Quality lego set! Its a brilliant addition to my collection. The instructions are labelled clearly and easy to follow. The set itself is great, it was more challenging than im used to, but still easy enough to do alone. I really enjoyed building this set. Theres 3 bags and 413 pieces so its a set you can take your time with and do in sections or build in one sitting.

Another great and interesting Lego build!!
Really well made as always from Lego. Quite complicated but still great fun. Kids took ages to get everything right, and the final build looked fantastic. Rated at 9+, but dont let that put you off, was complered by a 7y old that loves lego, and was so pleased with the end build. Another great lego product!!

Good, solid, fun to build set
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, I love lego, though I don't often get to buy any because of its prohibitive pricing, so when I got to opportunity to review this set, I jumped at the chance. I was not disappointed. The lego technic deep sea research submarine set is 413 pieces which came in 3 bags. Also in the box was a sheet of 13 stickers and the instruction book. It took me about 90 minutes to complete the 109 steps. The build was relatively simple with only one really fiddly bit, trying to get a gear to sit still while I put a rod through it. It's a good, sturdy model with several moving parts which are operated by obvious twisting gear pieces. None of the mechanisms are accessible so there is no chance for injury and even the grabber at the front is made of rubber rather than plastic.

Smart, challenging Lego submarine
My kids were very eager to get stuck into this Lego Technics kit because the box picture looked very 'cool' apparently and they wanted a challenge. On opening the box there are three, now paper bags for environmental reasons, containing the necessary 431 parts to create this machine. The biggest bag, number one had the main chassis and sticker box to add decals to the sub. At some points the instructions were a little awkward to decipher, making it necessary to really count the holes and check where the parts were being connected to. Then they were off again being quite content to build it themselves. Taking their time it took a couple of hours or so, a few moments of where's this bit, it didn't come in the packet, it's lost, the dogs have eaten it. However it all came together to build this really intricate and cleverly thought out technics set. The propellers are linked together so that when you turn the spindle on the top, all the propellers spin around. The claw mechanism at the front can be tucked underneath the main unit to keep it all neat and tidy by turning the gearing towards the front of the sub. The bubble canopy at the front can be opened, purely for imagination purposes as it's too big for a lego mini figure to take up captaincy. It's a good looking, challenging build that someone will find just right to build and to add or start their collection.

The usual high quality from Lego.
I've always loved a good Lego set, and my kids are the same. Technic Lego always adds an extra layer of interest with the mechanical functions, and there are plenty of bits on this one. Lego have taken another step to improve waste by packing their pieces into paper bags instead of plastic ones. This kit is split into 3 bags which keeps the amount of loose parts under control, with the smallest of parts in another bag inside each of the 3. The instructions are clear and easy to follow as always and it's always easy to find a suitable point to pause. The model has adjustable direction propellors which can also be spun together, and an arm underneath that can be controlled to pick up items from the 'sea bed'. Hours of imagination play, made easier by Lego magic.
