Researched this extensively before buying. The 370J surge protection is modest by spec, but for a stable UK grid, it handles everyday spikes from appliances fine. As for recommended wattage, about 10% below the maximum should be a comfortable margin, so roughly 2,800W / 2.8kW or less.
