Disappointed
Bought 2 weeks ago. Compact and easy to set up, fortunately I realised I needed to buy a hdmi cable as it isn't included. I bought Sony as a brand I trust for quality but to be honest disappointed with this player. It had great reviews but it is extremely noisy when running but I suppose for the price I can live with it.

Rubbish DVD
Very noisy disk player, buttons too hard to press and has a tendency to lock up. Cheap all round, you get what you pay for I guess. Give it a miss and go to the charity shop for a used one instead. So much better quality from the past

Value for money
Clear picture. Good for the money

Does most things very well
Needed a cheap replacement for our previous machine. The price, and the Sony brand, were the attraction here, and it plays DVDs without a problem. The dropped star is because it is supposed to play CDs as well. Which it does, but not without an occasional glitch and stutter. This on pristine, unmarked CDs, not even ones with the odd scratch, and which play perfectly on a dedicated CD player. So I would recommend it purely as a DVD machine, but if you’re thinking of playing CDs as well, you might want to look elsewhere.
