We had the old model and had used it to death. So when it died, we just bought another one. The newer model has improved where the old one failed (mains lead connection), but the handle is a little bulkier for storage.
But an excellent piece of kit for making toasted sandwiches!!

It’s simple, stylish and makes a perfect toasted sandwich, which is what I wanted. No plates to remove, no funny shapes, just a flat, wipe clean surface. Can be stored on its side too. Love it.
