TCL could have done better
I bought my TCL 50 Pro some while a go, It is bit slow than it clamed it is and struggles to operate with even the most common new generation android Apps of today.

Good screen
I bought this as newer phones give me headaches/eye strain due to using PWM dimming. I was using a few Samsung phones for years and never really thought my headaches were due to my phone. As soon as i started using this one, my headaches went away. This phone uses DC dimming so no flickering light.

A nice screen let down by poor hardware
The anti reflective screen is brilliant in almost completely eliminating glare. You also hardly see the fingerprints on it. The side button to go into ink mode is very handy and it works well. It's a great way to get into a grayscale mode that's good for your eyes and also helps reduce the dopamine trap of colourful screens. Unfortunately TCL have skimped so much on the other hardware, the phone is quite frustrating to use. The touch screen requires a firmer press than normal screens on other phones. The camera is rubbish and does not work for ID verification for banks. The bluetooth is pretty rubbish too. It is constantly cutting out when connected to my car, whereas my previous Motorola had no issues at all. Thankfully it's okay with my bluetooth earbuds. The processor is okay and I don't really notice any lag but I don't run any heavy apps and I don't game. TCL have the right idea with this screen. They just need to put it on better hardware and aim for the £400 price mark to do the screen justice.

The SIM Free TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER 5G 512GB Mobile Phone - Grey is supplied with a charging cable but not a USB plug. Many different devices are now charged using USB plugs and multiple manufacturers are now choosing not to supply these.
