A learning experience
The purpose of this review is to provide encouragement to those looking to buy a new microwave oven, and those who bought it and found it frustratingly difficult to set the clock time and reset after it keeps locking up. For 20+ years we have bought Panasonic models, but we found after 3 years the interior paint was flaking and there were rust spots. We were used to the Panasonic controls, so part of our problems might have been due to not understanding how Sharp do things. The instructions which come with the microwave are limited, i.e. useless, so you need to download the manual from the Sharp website [page EN-3]; you will not find the manual from a Google search, and there is no helpful YouTube video. The key part of the manual pdf is the section on the Child Lock (present on all recent microwaves, due to EU legislation) and the Safety Lock. However, setting the time remained a problem until we realised that there was a thin plastic film covering the control panel which we had not seen and removed. The time/set clock function now responded properly. Still learning to make full use of the auto menu functions. The advantage over previous Panasonic models, is that the door can be left partially open to let steam out after cooking so there is less water collecting inside the oven.

I bought this to update our microwave , our old microwave was 800w this microwave is 900w very quick with anything we have used it for , so happy with our sharp microwave would deffo buy again if we had to

Very Disappointed
Bought this 2 weeks ago, and thought that it would be simple to work, and would function until we had our kitchen is renovated. How wrong was I? After a couple of uses the child lock comes on and can't be removed. I had to down load the instructions to find out how to remove it, but this did not work. The only way to remove it is to completely unplug the microwave from the power and leave it for a period of time. The microwave will then function for a number of cycles, and then the child lock will come on again. If you attempt to set the clock, the child lock comes on immediately and the machine has to be unplugged and left again. I cannot recommend this product and would advise anyone to steer clear.

To reheat drinks, the instructions advise the following:
Place the beverage in the centre of the microwave glass turntable.
Shut door and press the Reheat Beverages button and select the number of cups by turning the Dial.
Press the Start/Quick Start button, to start the cooking.
When timer stops, remove drink. Carefully, as the drink will be hot.
