Good printer, but subject to HP exploitation
Good, well-priced printer, but HP clearly makes its money on forceful selling of its over-priced ink. What buyers don’t know until after purchase and during set-up, is that in order for the printer to work, they must agree to use only genuine HP ink cartridges; HP compatible cartridges are not allowed. HP makes periodic checks via the internet connection; when it detects a non-HP cartridge, it prevents that printer from working. Normal function will only resume when genuine cartridges are inserted and you may need to contact HP to do this. Also, the 3 month ink offer is fine, but at the end of the period, if you do not continue with a paid subscription, the printer will stop working until you insert different, genuine cartridges. The ink subscription is £4.99 a month which is way more than necessary if you print only 10-15 pages a month. Personally, I will not buy another HP printer after this, because I object to HP manipulation of its customers to spend far more on ink than is necessary.

This was a great little buy. Perfect for those little jobs that need printing. Simple to set up and the online app works seamlessly. The bonus was the price….. if you need a device that prints and scans with no frills this is it!
