The HP DeskJet 4220e is designed for straightforward home printing when you need a compact, wireless machine that handles everyday tasks without fuss. It offers printing, scanning and copying in one device that fits neatly into a spare corner, connecting via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth so everyone can print from laptops, phones or tablets. It prints black text and colour documents at a pace suitable for homework, recipes and return labels rather than high-volume jobs. The paper tray holds enough sheets to avoid constant refills, and manual duplex printing helps reduce paper consumption when needed.
The HP Smart App makes setup simple even if printers usually baffle you, and the printer automatically reconnects if your Wi-Fi drops, eliminating the need for fiddling with settings. It's light enough to move and won't dominate your workspace. It uses 2 ink cartridges, HP 305 or 305XL, and is compatible with HP Instant Ink for automatic delivery. The flatbed scanner handles A4 documents with crisp optical resolution, and you can print on heavier paper when needed. Overall a good printer.
Bought 5-6 months ago & not printed a huge amount (< 60 pages) but the black ink is already run out. Colours still ok so using blue for text. Handy having a scanner too. Got younger person to do the set-up as quite complicated!! Good value and a good purchase.

Good quality versatile printer
I bought this over 6 months ago and didnt expect to have used it as much as I have done. This includes printing photographs. The quality of the pictures were very good indeed but when the ink was running low they understandably were pale. It was very easy to connect especially for someone who is not tech savey. Printing was very quick. I should of bought the double sided print one but wasnt an issue to turn the paper over. I like that it is compact and not too big which fits nicely into the space tat I have. Easy to purchase printer ink for it as well and so easy to change the ink in the printer. Would buy again.
