Habitat dining table
I bought this table few weeks ago i was so thrilled when my husband assembled it , its so beautiful quality is top notch. I love love it.

Excellent, but MAY need to be aware of one quirk
A really lovely, stylish and solid table and, yes would recommend it. The only two negative aspects: 1) This took two very capable individuals three hours to assemble (nice bonding time, but much longer than the instructions suggested. I had noted someone else stating the same in a past review. I think this should be tested and checked by 'experts' and possibly revised). If you are leaving the table in its unextended state as we are (with just very occasional extension), then it looks really great. If you want to leave it in its extended state, then that would be a problem because of a design fault at source...the grain in the extension leaf runs perpendicular to the grain in the rest of the table. Of course it's the last thing you'd likely notice when assembling! I did feed this back but not with the intention of returning it or getting a refund (not necessary in my case). For others it could be a greater issue, unless a table cloth is used.

Nice table but challenging build
This is a very nice table when made up but wow - what an operation to make up the flat pack components. Even as seasoned Ikea builders we were somewhat challenged by this table - took us a solid 3 hours between 2 of us. Without an electric screwdriver would have been 4. It's a shame this can't be delivered partially made up.

Picture 8/8 on the webpage for the Alston Extending 6 - 8 Seater Dining Table - Oak gives the most accurate representation of the colour of the oak.As to the shade of the oak colour, this is a matter of personal preference as to which is darker or paler etc.

For info for anyone buying this table-the instructions say it will take 2 people an hour to assemble. Two of us have been going for over 4 hours and nowhere near finished. I consider myself experienced at putting flat pack furniture together but this is ridiculous. Nice table, awful to put together.
