Yes, the black protective plastic bands must be removed before assembly, these are there to protect cable to be in direct contact with metal and getting scratched, all the floor lamps have it. These bands have a gap in one side making is removal very easier.

No, it will need full assembly. The pole is separate to the base and the top and, also, the pole itself is made up of 3 sections that screw together.

The bulb required for the Home Twist Floor Lamp - Cream is a classic E27 edison screw filament LED.

E27 is the wider screw diameter as compared with E14 which is narrower (27mm compared with 14mm respectively)
