Great Manhattan Recorder
I bought this three weeks ago, to replace my aging Humax, and I am really impressed with how good and more up to date it is. Setting up was straightforward and recording programs so far has been very easy. Would recommend it.

Great Freeview recorder
Had this for a few weeks and I am very happy with it. Was easy to set up and is straight forward to operate. Find it useful that the remote can be programmed to operate some TV functions such as on/off, volume and input.

Bought to replace one that had failed, this one seems better than the older version, easy to set up except that if the tv is turned off the recorder will not record any preset programme, sloving this requires the hdmi setting to be altered, quite easy.

Not easy to use
I bought this to replace a Bush recorder and I have to say that I don’t find it as intuitive to use. examples are: No lcd on the recorder so not easy to see what channel you are on. Not as easy to see what you have recorded or is scheduled. I suppose I will get used to it but I still prefer my old Bush recorder.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Manhattan T4-R 500GB Freeview Play 4K TV Recorder.
You may notice that the same TV channel can appear on different channel numbers when comparing your Freely TV and your Manhattan T4‑R recorder. This is normal.
Freely and Freeview each use their own channel numbering system, so the numbers don’t always match. When setting a recording, simply choose the correct channel as it appears on the T4‑R’s own channel list. The recorder will always use its own Freeview channel numbers, not the numbers displayed on your Freely TV.

Freely is just an alternative to Freeview, allowing you to watch over the internet and not over an aerial. This allows recording, whereas, unless the TV supports it, freely doesn't allow.

You can only record from the live Freeview channels, you won't be able to record from an external connected device such as a fire stick connected to your TV as the recorder won't see it.
