Stiff dials, unable to see number settings
I biught this fir my elderly grandmother a few weeks ago. Chose the dial version as I thought it would be easy to turn.. Bad choice, the dial was too hard for her to turn and due to number setting and the marker on dial both being black you can't see what number to set the timing in. Very disappointed with this item and was unable to return.

This is a normal, standard microwave, so it'll function as such in terms of the types of items you can put in it and safely heat up.
For those heated bean bags, it's possible but it's down to the bean bag really as the bean bag needs to be designed to be suitable for heating this way, i.e. made of and filled with materials that can be heated in microwaves. We'd advise to check with the bag's brand/manufacturer for confirming advice before considering use.
For plates, this is not likely to work unless the plate already has something that the microwave can heat up on it. The heat you do get on a plate when warming food comes from the food itself. Microwaves work by emitting microwave energy into items you place in it, food usually, and the heat comes from the way these react with certain types of molecules, e.g. water, in the food. A ceramic plate would not heat at all. Also, some items are not suitable for putting in microwaves so, as with the bean bags, we'd advise to check with the plate's manufacturer first.
