Not suitable if you need a modem
We bought this but had to return it as we have a telephone line for our office computers and needed a modem to connect to the internet. This was not immediately obvious from the information displayed in the advert.

Super configurable router....
Upgraded recently from openreach powered full fibre to cityfibre product. I had been using a ( secondhand ) tp link vr2800 and the linksys router the ISP provided gave good wifi coverage but very little configuration options. For instance full wifi scheduling ( call me silly but I want as little RF at night as possible.) I bought this once I realised I couldn't do what I wanted with the ISP router and figured my 8+ years old box wasnt up to the full 900mbps product I was getting. Plenty of fast ethernet connections for my hardwired home. Even the screw holes for the wall mounting were in same place! App is useful for monitoring. Runs nice and cool too. Setup was fairly simple after a quick Google for the ipv6 settings as ( isp a bit vague) I recycled my old wifi name and password so things like roku sticks and phones didn't need faffing with. All good so far.

TP Link 5400 router
I decided to buy a new router for my home WiFi network. This one seemed to have good reviews so purchased from Argos for ease. Connected it to my present broadband provider router and attached all of my smart gadgets to the new one. Coverage around the house is good, especially the 2.4g. Was easy to configure and alter network names and passwords etc. using the TP app. Only gave 4 stars because the 5g network strength is not good enough to get the fastest speeds in some of the other rooms. I would recommend based on my experience so far.

Router performance!
Maybe too soon to tell! More importantly, where are the Nectar points I was promised when endeavouring to link my account number with the Argos system - farce?!

Does the trick
Bought a few weeks ago, fairly straightforward set up, works well, not much more to say. Would buy again, but hoping I don't have to and it'll serve me well for a good few years!

Good product
I bought this because my virgin hub decided it didn’t like several of my devices anymore and refused to connect to them. Virgin wouldn’t/couldn’t/refused to help but adding this tp router did the trick and everyone is happy because the resulting setup is better than before. Easy to set up too.

Fast router
Been in constant use, connected at 2.4Gb on WiFi 5Ghz up and down, reliable and good, bought mainly for using as a VPN router and hasn't let me down, excellent range and mesh compatible

Excellent Router
I couldn’t get my internet providers equipment to work correctly so opted to replace with this and everything works perfectly

Hello Keith,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link AX5400 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router (Archer AX73): ''Yes, you can connect the Archer AX73 router directly to the ONT box and should obtain internet. However, it all depends on the ISP that router is connected too as the connection type will vary with different ISP providers.''
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hi,
To enable and access the USB drive attached to the Router, please log in the router's web management interface and go to Advanced > USB > USB storage device. Enable the drive that you want to share to the network.
After that, you should be able to access the USB Sharing folders over the network, here are the instructions for accessing the USB Sharing from different client device:
1) https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/253/... (For Windows or Mac OS)
2) https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1198/... (For Android or iOS)

Hi Lee,
Setting up a network system usually requires a modem and a phone or PC/laptop with a wifi/ethernet port. A modem is used to connect your network to your Internet Service Provider (ISP), acting as a bridge between the local network and the ISP's network. Need to connect your phone or PC/Laptop to the router via WiFi or Ethernet cable to set up the router.
How to know if there is already a modem exists:
1. There is already a modem at the front end if there is an Ethernet cable(RJ45) from the internet box/wall. You can wire the cable directly to the wireless router's WAN port and you do not need to use the DSL port. Or make the DSL modem router act as the wireless router.
2. You need to buy a cable modem if the internet box/wall is a coaxial cable. You may contact your service provider for a modem recommendation or search online.
3. You need a DSL modem if the cable from the internet box/wall is a DSL cable/telephone line(RJ11), You may consider a DSL modem and router combination: https://www.tp-link.com/home-networking/dsl-m...

Hello Tigergrum,
I can advise the following for the TP-Link AX5400 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router (Archer AX73):
Yes, you may need to place this in Bridge mode as the Virgin Media doesn't normally allow this and to avoid double NAT, this is the best way. You will still need the Modem side of the Virgin Hub.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Richard,
If you already have an Ethernet cable at home that can be connected to the computer for internet access, you can simply use a router to connect to this Ethernet cable directly.
If you are using cable, fiber optics, DSL, or a SIM card for internet access, you will need a modem to connect to the internet. The modem is responsible for translating the signals from your internet service provider into a form that your router can use to create a local network in your home.
If you're unsure about whether you need a separate modem or if your router can connect directly to your internet service, you can check with your internet service provider or refer to the documentation that came with your router.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello SR,
The supplier has advised the following for the TP-Link AX5400 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router:
"The TP-Link AX73 is a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) router, which is capable of supporting high-speed internet connections. Let’s break down its capabilities:
Wi-Fi Speed: The TP-Link AX73 supports Wi-Fi 6 on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It can provide up to 5400 Mbps total theoretical bandwidth (574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 4804 Mbps on 5 GHz). 900 Mbps over Wi-Fi is achievable, especially if you're connecting via the 5 GHz band, as long as the device you’re connecting to supports Wi-Fi 6 and is close enough to the router for a strong signal.
Wired Speed (Ethernet): The TP-Link AX73 features Gigabit Ethernet ports, so it can easily handle 900 Mbps or even higher speeds through a wired connection. If your ISP offers 900 Mbps, you should have no trouble achieving that speed when connected directly to the router via Ethernet, assuming your network cable is of good quality (Cat 5e or better) and your device supports gigabit speeds.
Conclusion:
Wi-Fi: Yes, the AX73 can handle 900 Mbps Wi-Fi speeds on the 5 GHz band, especially if you're using a Wi-Fi 6-capable device and are within a reasonable range of the router.
Wired Connection: Yes, you can easily achieve 900 Mbps or more over a wired Ethernet connection, as the router has Gigabit ports and supports speeds that exceed your ISP’s offering.
If you want to ensure you're consistently getting the maximum speed from your ISP (900 Mbps), using a wired connection would be the most reliable method, but the TP-Link AX73 should also be able to handle the speed over Wi-Fi if your devices and environment are optimized for it."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Katy,
I can advise the following for the TP-Link AX5400 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router (Archer AX73):
This can connect to the open reach wall box that they installed for you via ethernet, negating the need for the G-Network router in bridge mode.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Kicks,
Our supplier has confirmed that the TP-Link AX5400 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router is not a VDSL router.

Hello MPD,
TP-Link AX5400 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router (Archer AX73)
PPPoE is 'Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet' internet connection - You need a username and password to connect your router to the internet and these credentials are typically provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) when you set up your connection.
