A better design than the old model
I had one of these a few years ago until the catch broke. This new design seems to work much better, just a slight touch the top opens! No sign of the catch not closing, just a gentle push the lid closes. Well pleased with my purchase. This is to replace a Homcom sensor bin which was annoying and unreliable. The only thing with this new design is the bin liner retainer which is built in but wrapping it tight round the front solved the problem.

Great Bin!
I bought this bin to replace an identical bin that I have had for years! Eventually the catch on the lid stop working but I didn't hesitate to replace it like for like has it had given me so much service. The new bin is a good size and holds a black bin bag easily in place. It looks good and the silver colour doesn't appear to show fingerprints.

A solution to this particular problem I found, is to make sure your bin bag completely covers the receiving pin on the body of the bin. If you place your bag around this pin or allow the pin to pierce the bag then this will allow the closure to fail and the lid to keep springing open.

The bin liner attachment is actually fixed to the top lid and doesnt come out to help lift the bag out. It also pulls down when the bag is full and stops the lid closing properly and so it pops open ALL the time! Not a great design change!!
