About this product
Induction cooking fast, precise power adjustments. Hob2Hood adjusts the fan speed as the heat changes. Control each zone individually with Individual Touch Controls. The PowerBoost function reaches high temperatures extra fast. Cooking zones are automatically deactivated when the hob timer elapses.
Induction helps you master any cooking technique faster. It heats quicker than other types of hobs so you can get on with your cooking straight away. Quick heat adjustments mean you can produce the finest tastes and textures when you cook.

Efficient with no fuss
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hob works very well and is easy to operate. I have found it quick to bring water to the boil and easy to adjust to simmer and good for frying. I have discovered that not all stainless steel pans work on an induction hob but I probably needed some new ones anyway.

Brilliant
Very pleased with the hob, apart from could have protection around the edge of the hob for protection easily gets damaged

New Kitchen, New Induction Hob.
First time we have used an induction hob and are very pleased with the results. We had to replace some of our pans for ones with magnetic bases but we were aware this would be a requirement when choosing the hob. Now we are getting used to the benefits of an induction hob we are glad we made the change from a non induction unit.

Working product, no problems yet. Shame it doesn’t come with cable.

V. Good Except for 1 Thing
The hob is great except that the touch controls seem to be very sensitive to mess. Occasionally I find that the controls don't work because the surface isn't fully clean. I try to turn boiling pots down but can't unless I thoroughly wipe with kitchen roll.

Not what I was expected
When I bought this hob I thought I will be very happy with the purchase, firstly came without the electric cable to plug it in, so you have to buy it separately, which cost again. If you want to use 2 pots it takes ages to cook If you use only one pot it will work good, fast heating. It looks nice but that’s it. It’s easy to clean and looks well aesthetically. Then because of the cm depth I had to do more space in order to fit the hob over the oven The customer services it gives you headache, they do not respond you and they leave without answering you. So overall I am not happy with this purchase.

Sleek and efficient
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So excited to finally trialed my product - new job. This is the best hob I have had: Aesthetically, it looks absolutely stunning, with a shine/gloss that is not overpowering. Functionally, I have only been using it for a few days now and it works brilliantly. My/family favourite so far is the power booster function that lets you cook or heat things in minutes. My husband like to cook on high pressure so this is definitely a plus for him. I also love the job to hood feature which is handy for those high pressure cooking in getting rid of excess moisture. The child safety feature is great as well although hav not utilised it yet. The hob or cooking section is just the right size to fit various size cooking pan without encroaching on the other side. Really looking forward to exploring it more.

It does exactly what it says on the tin
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used a fair few induction hobs and some have been easier to use than others, either through their buttons not being sensitive enough or their pan placement being very specific but this hob manages to bypass these issues to make it very easy to use and reliable. The main incentive of an induction hob is that it heats up instantly and that can definitely be said for this one; a pan of water can be heated within a few minutes and I've actually been caught out by a pan bubbling over since it heats up so quickly compared to my previous hob. My only minor gripe with this hob is that it is very sensitive to any liquid that is spilt on it, if a pan bubbles over it will beep four times and shutdown until you've dried it up. Even when the hob is off and it is sprayed with kitchen cleaner it will beep to let you know that it is wet. I assume this is a safety cut off. Overall I would definitely recommend this hob for being easy to use and exactly what I wanted in an induction hob.

Key Differences
Marketing & Feature Set:
The 5000 Series is marketed as “Fast & Powerful” with a focus on speed and seamless cooking, and highlights features like OptiFix™ (easy installation) and Pause functionality.
The 3000 Series focuses on essential induction features, precise control, and value for money.
Actual Cooking Performance:
Both series offer similar core specs (zone layout, PowerBoost, Hob2Hood, touch controls).
The 5000 Series may have slightly more advanced or user-friendly features (like Pause and OptiFix), but the cooking performance is very similar.
Dimensions:
The 5000 is listed as 60cm wide, the 3000 as 59cm, but this is likely a rounding difference—both fit standard 60cm cutouts.
At AEG, we currently do not offer a disconnection service for gas appliances when replacing them with electric or induction models. For safety and compliance reasons, any gas disconnection must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer prior to our installation team's arrival.
Once the gas has been safely disconnected and capped off, our team can proceed with the installation of your new induction hob, provided the electrical supply meets the required specifications.
Hello GrammarGirl,
I can advise the following for the AEG IKX64301CB Electric Induction Hob - Black:
Apologies, it's like for like only.
Thanks for using Q & A.
For the AEG IKX64301CB induction hob, the required minimum clearance between the hob and the oven below depends on the oven brand:
Minimum 6 mm if the oven is from AEG, Electrolux, or Zanussi.
Minimum 12 mm if the oven is from any other brand.
This clearance ensures proper ventilation and prevents overheating of components. It's also important to follow any additional installation instructions provided by the oven manufacturer, especially regarding airflow and heat dissipation.
The AEG IKX64301CB induction hob requires a 32-amp electrical connection for proper operation, based on its total power output across all four cooking zones. Here's a quick breakdown of its power requirements:
Left front zone: 2300 W (boost to 3700 W)
Left rear zone: 1800 W (boost to 2800 W)
Right rear zone: 1800 W (boost to 2800 W)
Right front zone: 1400 W (boost to 2500 W)
The total maximum power draw when using boost functions can exceed 7.4 kW, which is too high for a 20-amp connection (which typically supports up to 4.6 kW at 230V).
What You Can Do:
Use a lower-powered hob: Look for models specifically designed for 13A or 20A connections.
Limit usage: Some hobs allow you to set a power management limit (e.g., cap total draw to 3.7 kW), but this may reduce performance.
Upgrade your electrical connection: If you're set on this model, you may need to upgrade to a 32A circuit.
Hello there. The AEG IKX64301CB Electric Induction Hob has a total measurement of W59cm x D60cm. This is more than double the base of your pan so this should be fine. Thanks for using Q and A.
Yes, there are a few handy solutions you can use if your Moka pot's base is smaller than the smallest burner ring on your stove:
🔧 Moka Pot Heat Diffuser or Reducer Ring
This is the most common and effective solution. It's a metal disc or ring that sits on top of your stove burner and provides a stable surface for small pots like a Moka pot. It helps:
Distribute heat evenly
Prevent the pot from tipping over
Allow use on gas or electric stoves with large burners
You can search for terms like:
“Moka pot reducer ring”
“Stovetop heat diffuser for small pots”
“Coffee maker burner adapter”
🧲 Magnetic Induction Adapter Plate (for induction stoves)
If you're using an induction stove, and your Moka pot isn’t induction-compatible or is too small, you can use a magnetic induction adapter plate. It works similarly to a diffuser but is specifically designed for induction heat transfer.
🛠️ DIY Options
If you're in a pinch, you can use:
A metal trivet or wire rack (as long as it's heat-safe and stable)
A cast iron pan as a base, placing the Moka pot inside it (though this may affect heat distribution)
The AEG IKX64301CB induction hob does not come with pre-installed wiring for direct connection to the mains. It must be hard-wired. It's important to ensure that the cable used is appropriate for the power requirements of the hob and that the installation is carried out by a qualified electrician to comply with safety regulations.
