Economical to use
I purchased this to replace my previous Breville. It is very convenient, it makes a nice hot drink and I love having the ability to choose how much water I want in my cup. Highly recomend as there is not a drop of wasted water with this unit.

Great for different size cups
I am very happy with this hot water dispenser, the adjustable water amount switch makes it easier for different sizes of cup, down side- it says it takes 2 ltrs but it does not, about 1.3/4 ltrs., this is the only small problem and not really worth mentioning. This is the third Breville I've had so I'm happy with the brand overall. Lights up when switched on.

Breville goes `down the nick`.
I bought this `Dispenser` on 2nd January this year to replace the same model that I had bought a couple of years before. Reason for replacement was that the first one had started leaking like a sieve. Two weeks after purchasing the latest one, it started leaking almost as badly as the first one - then the control button started to play up. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn`t work unless you stood there and kept pressure on the button. I took it back to Argos and bought a Swan Hot Water Dispenser - much better !!

bought this for my mother who has just had a hip replacement and struggle to lift a kettle as needs both hands to blance on sticks. put this at the side of her bed so she can make her morning cuppa,, light weight to fill up and boild within seconds dispensing just the right about for a cup. game changer for my mum. my sister in law has now bought herself one to use in the main kitchen to safe waiting for a regular kettle to boil as she drinks alot of tea/coffee. looks great too.

Awesome - bought two!
I love these! Bought one for our music school where we are far from the kitchen, I love it so much I bought my mum one for her garden studio room too. Boils just enough for a cup - you can change the cup size too.

Reduced water dispensing can often be linked to limescale buildup, especially in hard water areas. Even after descaling, some deposits can remain in internal components and affect performance. Please try the following steps:
Descale thoroughly using a suitable descaling solution, following the instructions in the user manual. Repeat if necessary, as stubborn limescale may require multiple treatments. Please also check the water outlet pipe position inside the kettle to ensure it’s correctly aligned and not obstructed.
If the issue persists after these steps, we recommend contacting Breville Customer Service for further troubleshooting and to verify warranty coverage, as your kettle may require replacement.
Hi,
I fill mine from a jug as I couldnt safely carry the hotcup full of water. After a while you can guess how much water you need to put it.
Hello Dave,
The Breville VKJ318 kettle can be filled either by taking it to the tap or by using a jug to pour water in—whichever is most convenient for you. Just make sure not to exceed the maximum fill line indicated inside the kettle for safety and optimal performance.
Hi, the space under the VKJ318 nozzle is approximately 16 cm once the removable tray is taken out, so it really just depends on the size of the teapot.
Hi, this unit is designed specifically for cups, so a standard single cafetiere may not fit properly.
Hi Anng, Yes, even though the Breville VKJ318 has a limescale filter, it still needs to be descaled—ideally every 2–3 months, depending on how often you use it and your local water hardness. This helps keep it working efficiently.
Hi Kaz - Breville VKJ318 HotCup Water Dispenser comes with permanent limescale filter.
Hi, you can clean the spout using a soft cloth and a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. You can also descale the appliance according to the manual. For more details, please visit the manufacturer's website.
You would have to push the button for each tea individually but it takes alot less time to boil than the kettle would. Still a bit of a faff to make a big round of brews but 1 or 2 is super quick.
Hi Black cat,
The Breville VKJ318 HotCup Water Dispenser has a 2-liter capacity, which is enough to make multiple cups of tea without needing to refill and reboil for each cup.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Sessair, the measurement from the bottom of the nozzle is 12cm but you can also get more room by removing the drip tray which is magnetic and the space is then 14cm.
Hi Chris, yes, this model has a stop button that you can press to automatically stop the flow if necessary.
