Kettle
I purchased this kettle/ hot water heater for my elderly mum. This is the second or third one she has had.. They last ones did last a number of years, so well worth the money. These a nob to twist to set the cup size you would like. This maybe different for people who has problems when their hands to change the cup size. Water comes out the right temperature. Only boiling the amount of water you need so saves on electricity bill.

Breville
Having previously bought the small version and been quite happy with the product we decided to buy the larger one which is brilliant and we don’t haven’t fill it quite as often ( we are big tea drinkers). Can also adjust the amount being dispensed which is fab for when you cooking veg or pasta to get the cooking going almost immediately

Perfect energy efficient way to boil water
Perfect energy efficient way to boil water. Dial to set many different mug sizes (would be better if this has the vooume of water). Boils quickly so can do a group of hot drinks when required with no fuss

Hotcup water dispenser
Bought this a couple of weeks ago because of my husband sight loss, he can now dispense hot water for tea or coffee without having to lift a kettle. It dispenses just the right amount of hot water straight into the cup, so no mess, no scalding very safe for him to use, and of course you only heat the water you need each time not a whole kettle full. Very pleased with it.

Hi, this unit is designed specifically for cups, so a standard single cafetiere may not fit properly.
Hi Anng, Yes, even though the Breville VKJ318 has a limescale filter, it still needs to be descaled—ideally every 2–3 months, depending on how often you use it and your local water hardness. This helps keep it working efficiently.
Hi Kaz - Breville VKJ318 HotCup Water Dispenser comes with permanent limescale filter.
Hi, you can clean the spout using a soft cloth and a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. You can also descale the appliance according to the manual. For more details, please visit the manufacturer's website.
You would have to push the button for each tea individually but it takes alot less time to boil than the kettle would. Still a bit of a faff to make a big round of brews but 1 or 2 is super quick.
Hi Black cat,
The Breville VKJ318 HotCup Water Dispenser has a 2-liter capacity, which is enough to make multiple cups of tea without needing to refill and reboil for each cup.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Sessair, the measurement from the bottom of the nozzle is 12cm but you can also get more room by removing the drip tray which is magnetic and the space is then 14cm.
