A reliable blender for smoothies
Our 10yr old Breville, used daily, finally expired with the failure of the blade drive connection, probably due to our habit of regularly subjecting it to the dish washer. We will be more kind to it's successor and look forward to at least another 10 years smoothies.

Waste of money. Nothing like the former model!
I am now on my second warranty replacement, with each unit lasting only 6 months. They've both had the same issue, which is the rubber grips that drive the blade are plastic, and have sheared off. This has happened despite using the latest blender extremely cautiously: always pre-chopping hard items, de-frosting frozen fruit, gently pulsing a few times before holding the button in to blend. It's extremely frustrating to have to pre-chop/de-frost everything that's going into A BLENDER. I owned an older model "BlendActiv" from circa 2015 to 2023 and it blended everything - ice, frozen items, nuts - with zero issues. I am so thoroughly disappointed at the latest model, which apparently cannot even handle a piece of frozen mango. The information on the website about the Blend Active's capabilities is blantantly wrong. It does NONE of these things.

Daughter has used this a handful of times and the rubber gear has warn out completely. I assumed it would be a replaceable part but no, you have to buy a new blade lid/base. Unfortunately they are almost the same price as the unit and made from too cheap rubber. Utterly useless and will be returned and an alternative bought from another manufacturer.

its been 2 weeks since I bought this item. Its an excellent product. no mess no dishwashing hassle after making my shake. Just right and works for me.

Broken within 2 weeks
I only brought this 2 weeks ago and it’s broken already, the base is making a weak noise and there is a burning smell coming from it. The problems started after I attempted to blend frozen fruit in my smoothie something it claims to be able to do. Not impressed

Well worth the money
This blender is excellent. It is easy to use if you have weak hands as it doesn’t require much strength at all to use the button or secure the top. Some parts can be put in the dishwasher. It works really well but won’t cope with things like frozen fruit, but it’s easy to defrost those. I think it’s excellent value. It’s not heavy but it is stable. It blends well with. It is the ideal size.

If you make a smoothie using the Breville VBL246, you can place the bottle in the fridge overnight and drink it the next morning. Please make sure the lid is securely fitted before refrigerating.

It is a hold-to-activate machine. The blade will spin as long as you press the button. Please remember we recommend the maximum of 30 seconds in one go!

Frozen ice and fruit soon broke the blade assembly on my machine.
The rubber notches on the bottom are not strong enough to cope when frozen fruit jams the blades, so they snap off.
So mine only lasted 6 months.
I am struggling to get a new part, so now it is useless.

The VBL246 is designed to blend soft and frozen fruits, and it can handle small quantities of crushed ice or small ice cubes as part of a smoothie mixture. However, it is not intended for crushing large ice cubes on their own, as this may place excess strain on the motor and potentially lead to damage over time.
