Worth every penny
Covers large areas, acts as security and in our case, a garden pet cam. Lights can be turned off. Does require a subscription for some features, but it is worth it

Emergency buy
Going away for a while and needed a quick replacement for a camera I had in the back garden. This was ideal as it was available right away, high tech and really easy to put up. Only issue is that the battery was pretty much depleted and needed a full charge which I couldn't do due to timescales. If you are buying make sure you have a day to fully charge the battery or get the optional solar panel

Recent Ring Cam Pro installation.
Expected battery life is, disappointingly, not as described for the battery only version. Be prepared to spent an extra £25 on the second (optional) battery. Otherwise very good.

Great camera
It is a great bit of kit. We have to turn it off during the day though as it is very sensitive and keeps going off when windy.

Without a subscription plan, the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro will not provide continuous recording. It only provides motion-triggered recordings. If any movement is detected within its field of view, it will record a video clip and send you a motion alert. These motion-triggered recordings will be available for viewing, but they will not be stored for an extended period without a subscription.

You can receive a notification and be able to perform a live view however, you won't be able to review past event recordings if you have not subscribe to a Ring plan.

According to the information on the spec sheet the pro can be hard wired but the plus cannot.
You need to purchase a hard wired kit for this. Or order the pro direct from ring that comes with hard wired kit and is currently on offer for less.
