About this product

Marshalls Garden Spearmint (Mentha spicata) has a milder flavour than peppermint, making it ideal for mint sauce, salads, herbal teas and summer drinks. Its soft green leaves and fragrant spikes of pink, lilac or white flowers add charm to pots, patios and kitchen windowsills, and the flowers attract bees and other pollinators. This hardy perennial dies back in autumn and regrows each spring, reaching 45-60 cm tall and spreading up to 1 m if left in open soil, but it thrives and is easily managed in containers. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged, water at the base when the top inch feels dry, avoid overhead watering, and feed sparingly with a balanced slow-release fertiliser or organic compost once a month during the growing season.
