About this product
Cutting curves in plywood or making intricate shapes in Composite materials? The Black Decker Corded Jigsaw is a 500W power tool for timber, plastics and metals. It's got variable speed control so you'll adjust cutting pace to match materials. Pendulum action increases efficiency when you're working through softwood at faster speeds. You'll make angled cuts using the beveling base that adjusts from 0 to 45 degrees. Improved visibility of the cut line helps you follow patterns accurately. Low vibration design means better handling and less fatigue during detailed work.
The quick blade change system lets you swap between T and U shank blades. You'll keep your workspace cleaner with the dust extraction facility as you cut. It's suitable for sheet materials like chipboard, laminate and OSB. The 2m cable gives you working range without constant repositioning. Five cutting blades are included so you can start projects straight away. This corded jigsaw delivers consistent power for curves and corners in wood or plastic.

Disappointed
Was pleased until looked in instruction book whe9re it said optional rip fence guide part number X43005XJ was available. Contacted black and decker who looked into it and said part unavailable. So in hindsight would have looked at another make that came with th guide

Mediocre, but cheap
The box listing says this comes with a metal cutting blade. It doesn't. There is no protection on the saw to stop you from accidentally powering up and blade, just the slightest pressure on the trigger is enough to get the blade going, so you need to have it unpowered right up until you're about to start cutting. The blade holding mechanism needs oil before you use it and if you don't then the blade will get jammed, and you'll need to dismantle the holding mechanism to release it, as I discovered. However, it's cheap and it does work. For cutting timber it's fine, but for cutting metal it's a real chore. The blades that come with it are cheap and don't hold up to extensive usage. Fine for a quick job or two, but you'll need better blades for anything long-term.

It says on the box 3 wood blades and 2 metal but apparently theyre all for wood.
Thankfully I checked here before attempting to use it on metal.
Argos should ask Black and Decker to either supply the right parts or change the wording on the container.
