Does the job
Easy to use and good battery life. I've another product of the same brand which helps with batteries. More effective than my previous strimmer that had a solid plastic blade that kept needing replacing.

Great replacement product
Bought this as a replacement for edging shears as they were constantly breaking or needed sharpening. Really pleased with this purchase

Excellent garden tool
I am pleased with this grass trimmer. I had an older Spear and Jackson trimmer but the twine broke. This newer model has a spare spool. It is safer than tools with blades as it cuts grass with concealed wire in the base of the machine.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY NO MORE CABLES TO PLUG IN
This strimmer replaced one I purchased years ago. I can't believe how light it is compared to the old one it is also very simple to use. Not having to rewind the spool is also a bonus, you just purchase a fresh one (extra one provided). As it is battery operated with no cable it is so much quicker

My husband needed a new strimmer. He decided on this. He thinks it's a great machine hasn't had any issues with it at all. Decent running time in the charged battery great for cutting

Not great
The charger didn't work so I had to return it. That said, I'm sort of pleased I did because holding it I could tell it would hurt my hands to keep the button held down due to the weight and shape.

Hi andy,
To change the spool on the Spear & Jackson Cordless Grass Trimmer - 18V, follow these general steps.
Replacement spool (or line if you're rewinding manually)
Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance to avoid accidental starts.
Flip the trimmer over to access the spool housing. You’ll see a cap held in place by two tabs on either side.
Press the tabs inward simultaneously and lift the cap off. This will expose the spool.
Gently pull the old spool out of the housing. If there’s any remaining line, remove it.
If using a pre-wound spool, insert it into the housing and feed the line through the eyelets.
If rewinding manually, wind the line in the direction of the arrows on the spool, then feed the ends through the eyelets.
Align the cap with the housing and press down until it clicks into place.
Reinsert the battery and briefly power on the trimmer to ensure the line feeds correctly.
