The Braun PRT2000 Digital Stick Thermometer with Age Precision is a clinically validated device designed to provide quick and accurate body temperature measurement for home monitoring. It features Age Precision Technology that uses colour coded display to assist interpretation based on age specific parameters. The 3 in 1 thermometer is suitable for oral, rectal or underarm use.
Temperature reading can be completed in as fast as 8 seconds with simple button operation for convenient assessment. The flexible tip is small and soft, providing comfortable measurement across multiple sites. Yellow or red colour indicators adjust according to age to show status. Storage cap included for portability and hygiene maintenance between uses.

Quick but questionable
Bought this 5 months ago and whilst we like the “traffic light” light system and it’s quick to respond, I’m not convinced by the accuracy of the readings as during repeated attempts temperatures can vary significantly so we’ve used our old one (much slower) to confirm temperatures when high.

The Age Precision feature allows you to select the age group (0-3 months, 3-36 months, and 36+ months) to ensure accurate readings for different age groups, including adults. To take an adult temperature, simply select the 36+ setting.

However, you may simply ignore the age setting when using the thermometer. The device will still provide accurate temperature readings without the need to set an age range.
We would suggest the Braun High Speed 3-in-1 Thermometer, PRT1000, as an alternative, as it does not feature the Age Precision technology. Please note that our healthcare devices are intended for home use only. Use of the thermometer for public purposes may invalidate the warranty.

Hello, Ludlow! Thank you for your question. We have a section about the Age Precision colour coding in the manual, page 4 and 5, which you will find at the following link in PDF:

The Age Precision feature is not intended to interpret hypothermic temperatures. As a result, the display will not show a colour below 35,7 for babies and 35.3 for adults (underarm).
