Treat every 2 weeks for the first 4 sessions, then touch up monthly to maintain results. Both lower legs take 8.5 minutes to cover. The device includes body, face, underarm and bikini attachments plus a pouch and adaptor. It works on dark blonde, brown and black hairs with very white to dark brown skin tones but is ineffective on red, light blonde, white, grey hair, or dark skin. The bulb delivers 450,000 flashes. Worldwide voltage lets you use it anywhere. Suitable for arms, legs, stomach, chin, upper lip, jawline, underarms and bikini areas but not for male facial hair or genital areas.

Doesn't work on bikini area 😞
I have been using this regularly now for ages and seen no improvement in my hair growth. I can't believe it as this was a lot of money for me to spend and I chose it over other devices thinking it would be the best. It is for my bikini area. I will continue to keep using it every two weeks in the hope I will see some results but it has been months since I should have moved into the touch up phase but instead I continue the fortnightly treatment plan because I am yet to see results. All I can do is keep using it and hope i see some results but as time goes on my heart is sinking that this expensive device just doesn't work. So disappointed. I had to save up for this.

Works well
I bought this a month ago so have used it twice and already noticed the difference. Hair growth is a lot slower and finer. Really easy to use and very comfortable. Can get a little warm but not uncomfortably so. Really pleased with the results so far.

Plenty of attachments
I have used my Lumia infrequently as I either forget to shave or run out of time, but even though I haven’t got into a regular routine I can see such a difference already. I think once I start using it properly all that will be left will be the grey hairs as expected. The attachments allow for accurate targeting of each area.

Good for arms, legs and face
The product works well in some areas and does not bring so much benefit to others. I would recommend for arms, legs and face but not so much for smaller and difficult to reach areas. The device is not easy to manage and to cover perfectly the areas being treated. Bikini area and stomach for example are cumbersome to treat and you are always wondering if it was properly done.

The supplier has advised the following in regard to the Philips Lumea Series 8000 BRI947/00 Corded IPL Hair Removal on Suntan skin:
Intentionally exposing your skin to natural or artificial sunlight with the aim of
developing a tan influences the sensitivity and color of your skin. Therefore the following is important: - After each treatment, wait at least 48 hours before tanning. Even after 48 hours, make sure that the treated skin does not show any redness from the treatment anymore. - If you expose your skin to the sun (without tanning intentionally) in the 48 hours after treatment, use a sunblock SPF 50 on the treated areas. After this period, you can use a sunblock SPF 50 for two weeks. - After tanning, wait at least 2 weeks before you use Lumea and perform a skin test. This is to determine the appropriate light intensity setting (see 'B Test skin 24 hours before treatment'). - Do not use Lumea on sunburned body areas.
