You're watching a toddler who's just worked out how to crawl, and suddenly every staircase and doorway needs thinking about. This slim pressure fit safety gate blocks off the bottom of stairs or doorways between rooms. The double-locking mechanism opens easily for adults (one-handed, handy when your arms are already full) but stays firmly shut against curious fingers. It swings both ways, so you can move through from either direction.
The pressure fit design means no drilling into your walls or door frames. The one-handed operation means you can unlatch and step through without juggling what you're carrying. A step-over bar at the bottom keeps the gate secure while the wide walk-through section gives you space to pass comfortably. It's built for toddlers up to 2 years old. Manual closing means it shuts behind you automatically, so there's no risk of forgetting to close it properly.

I bought this as a quick fix to prevent a small rescue dog leaving the upper floor of the house. For me it’s perfect, but I wouldn’t use it for a child that is walking as the catch is so simple to operate. Perfect for my requirements as I said but probably not for everyone!

Great gate!
I needed a safety gate for my little girls nursery, as she can now crawl very quickly! Very easy to install, fairly thin bars and therefore light weight. The gate is secure when pushed, and does the trick. Just to note, the instructions are not very clear on the last step. The spanner tightens the gate but needs to be pointed to the reverse side of the gaps to tighten.

I can advise that this gate fits a opening from 61 to 68cm, if you add a 10cm extension, that will changes the gap opening to 71-78cm. This will still not achieve the 70cm you need.
