Got this for my mothers house . She has poor mobility and unable to come to the door . It great as we can tell people the key guard number and the can let their self in . Great quality of cameras . I have even boudgt one for myself . High quality .

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Ring Video Wired Doorbell: ''Yes, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires an existing doorbell connection or a compatible transformer for power. It does not have a built-in battery like some other Ring doorbell models. It needs to be hardwired to either an existing doorbell system or a transformer with 10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz for continuous power.
With regards to the Zoom in/out function, the Ring Wired Doorbell does not have a physical optical zoom lense. The zoom feature you see in the Ring App is a digital zoom which simply enlarges the existing image.''

The Ring wired doorbell is not waterproof, but it is water-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. It can withstand normal rainfall and snow, but it is not designed to be submerged in water or exposed to high-pressure water.
