it is what it is ! don't expect a petrol performance but for DIY small jobs it works well especially if you have dual volt batteries from other black and decker kit , did 2 hours garden work 100mm diameter branch removal and cutting up. only got 20mins with the battery supplied but no problem with B&D dual volt battery

There are a number of steps to follow for assembly, including charging the battery, fitting the chain guide bar, installing the saw chain, attaching these to the main body of the saw. It's not the sort of assembly that involves a full build up of very small, fiddly parts into the entire thing but some assembly is still required.
