The slide is sturdy, fun, and great for kids, but assembly is often difficult, with tight spaces and misfitting bolts causing frustration. Once built, it provides hours of enjoyment and good value.

Avoid, assembly is difficult
Here's a polished review you could post: I would not recommend this slide. Assembly was far more difficult than it should have been. The instructions suggest a straightforward build, but it took us nearly two hours to complete what should have been a 30-minute job. Several of the supplied bolts were not long enough for the attachments they were intended to secure. At one stage, we had to use ratchet straps to pull parts of the slide together just to make the fixings reach. Both of us assembling it are engineers with a good understanding of structural design and mechanical assembly, yet we still encountered significant difficulties. It appears the slide may have undergone design modifications since the original design was created, but the supplied fixings have not been updated accordingly. As a result, some components simply do not align properly without considerable force and adjustment. I would go as far as to say that an injury could have easily occurred while pulling metal bars together with the force that was required. The supplied tools were also of very poor quality. The steel was soft and the tool heads rounded off quickly during assembly. What should have been an exciting experience for our child turned into a frustrating afternoon. We had one very upset little person waiting to use their new slide and two increasingly frustrated parents trying to make it fit together. I was genuinely close to packing it all up and returning it. The slide itself looks fine once assembled, but the assembly process was unacceptable. Unless you are confident in modifying or adapting parts during assembly, I would avoid this product. Looking back, I wish I had purchased from Smyths or Decathlon instead.

Would definitely recommend
Really pleased with this. Endless hours of fun for the kids, and the stability of the slide is excellent. Really good value for money

Great slide for the paddling pool
It’s a decent quality slide for the price and my children love it, especially with the hose attached going into the paddling pool. I can understand the other reviews about it being difficult to put together but I didn’t find it much of a challenge - anyone that’s comfortable with basic DIY isn’t likely to struggle in my opinion.

A puzzle!
Easy ordering online - delivery was as promised and efficient. Full marks to Argos on that front. The only issue here is that whoever at Chad Valley designed this slide really needs to have a bit of a rethink. You need the finger dexterity of a child to be able to get the bolts into the nuts, due to the little amount of space. And while assembling it *looks* straightforward on paper, it is actually a pain, especially at the point where one has to put the cross-struts from the ladder to the halfway point on the slide in place. They just don't seem to be the correct size! I did solve the conundrum though (eventually!) by loosening all the bolts of the whole structure off quite a lot, then force-fitting the cross struts before attempting any tightening of the unit at all. (I still had to use one of the spare longer bolts where I shouldn't have had to though!!) It took me about 3/4 hours to solve this puzzle, but once complete, it's a real hit with my 4 year-old granddaughter, so overall I have to be honest and say it is a win for this slide. I just hope I never have to put it together again! (so 1 star for the designer - I have put together much better designed units than this in the past!)

the D component doesn’t fit properly !
i received and built this today.. it’s a good size and seems study although it does wobble which is standard i think… the D component doesn’t fit doesn’t screw in with the 40mm screws, i had to use the 45mm screws supplied which meant i was short for the legs, zone since ordered some 45mm screws to properly secure it, but it seems this is a common issue, the instruction manual needs to be changed to have 45mm screws on the D component and NOT the 40mm screws, to me it’s an obvious error, The 40mm screws doesn’t even come through the outer end of the D components when you put it in the way the instructions state !

Great slide, but a pain to assemble
Overall it's a good slide, sturdy and easy to use. However, it was a nightmare to assemble and took ages. There's only a very small space for the nuts to fit, so screwing the bolts in was difficult. But the worst part was the supporting arms, as they simply don't fit the shape of the slide as intended. In the end I had to get two longer screws of my own just to attach the arms to ladder, and then force the arms into place to attach to the slide. I was actually worried about breaking them because of how much force I had to apply. I was also disappointed that there were some scratches on the handles, which seemed to happen in transit. I still rate the slide 4 stars because once it's up it's good, but beware of putting this together on your own and check it carefully for damage before assembling.

You’d could use some of your own U-shaped pegs but we cannot advise of their suitability, safety, or how well they’d fit and hold the product to the ground. Any damage to the item due to the use of such pegs on it would not be covered by the item’s guarantee and, also, the use of such pegs would be at the user’s own risk.
