The bung to stop the water coming out was too small for the hole and so it is useless! I phoned the company and a very nice lady is sending me a couple of new bungs but if they don't work either she said I would have to return it to Argos as faulty.

I haven’t put this item to use yet. It seems ok though not very robust. The stopper to cover the aperture where the water is poured in appears to be a poor fit and might easily fall off and be lost.

Ok , if a bit small.
Product is not particularly wide, so is useful as a weighted base for a parasol that goes through a table, but is a.little narrow to use by itself. Plastic is a bit flimsy, so I don't think it would stand up to being dropped, or being exposed to frost or freezing cold if.full of water . Adequate for purpose.

The description says this fits an umbrella pole with a width upto 32mm. It absolutely doesn’t. My umbrella is 32mm and although it fits in the base, the grip won’t tighten on it so the umbrella just spins round and round in the wind…. The exact reason I bought a base was to prevent this. Absolutely useless.

Perfect fit for my parasol
Perfect for my use. Compatible with my parasol, light and easily portable. Stable with light winds. wouldn't trust it in high winds. Very light weight and easy to move around the garden.

Filled it with water. Still blew parasol over. Also no cap to go on where you fill water. So all tipped over in mild wind may 26. Don’t waste money buy a sturdier one

This parasol base is suitable for a 1kg parasol, reliably sustaining a light breeze only, but we do not need nor want a parasol when the sun is not burning down on top of us without relief from a breeze, so all is very good for purpose and weak, sick and elderly people cannot manage heavy objects as well as strong sun , so it is worth its weight in gold, especially as one can fill it with water in situ. I hope this is of help, as I remember being so confused during initial selection, myself.

Although it is adjustable so may fit theses measurements, i wouldn’t recommend getting it for anything free standing. It constantly falls over when windy, even when filled to the brim with water.

This will NOT work with the Argos Home 3m Overhanging Garden Parasol - Grey 401/2434. The correct base for the 401/2434 would be Argos Home Plastic Quarter Parasol Base - Black 305/8798. You would need to purchase 4 of these.
