Lovely looking fire
Great fire. Looks lovely and has 2 heat seatings. For the budget price the coal effect is really convincing, and psychologically you feel warmer seeing it.

Rubbish
Bought this when I got it home it's not black black it had scratches on it the front grill is plastic very disappointing. Took it back to the shop but they wouldn't accept it had to reschedule a delivery pick up. Thought that argos would of taking it as it wasn't a heavy bulky item had to wait in with no time giving which is quite annoying. Got full refund... Would not recommend. I've only put a 1 star preference as. I have to select something to submit but going on the product. I think that may be the same

Eclipse Electric Fire
I bought this fire because of the opening size on our original fire surround was only 400mm wide. Having read the question and answers about this product and the drawing of the opening requirements it seemed a perfect fit. This turned out not to be the case!! The size actually required for a flush fit was 405mm but where the cable enters the fire on the bottom left you need a little more here. This caused some problems cutting the surround which was extremely difficult due to it being original and in place. It was also very dusty, due to us not being able to use water to stop the dust because of a fitted carpet in front of the hearth. The fire itself if fine for the price, a little noisy but it does the job. I feel we were not given the correct information prior to buying and felt we could not return the fire because we had opened the package and did not double check the size first. I did not think this was necessary because of the answers given by Argos or whoever answers the questions. If I knew we had to make the opening bigger we would have chosen a different fire because there was much more choice.

However this does need to sit onto a flat, even and stable flooring and should not be placed on carpets or rugs.''
