About this product
Small garden need a trim? The Flymo Hover Vac 250 is a corded hover mower that floats on air for effortless pushing. It's powered from the mains so you'll never stop to refuel or recharge. The 1400W motor drives a metal blade across a 25cm width. You'll manoeuvre around flower beds and obstacles smoothly using the hovering action. Three cutting heights from 1cm to 3cm let you choose the perfect lawn finish. The 15L grass collector means fewer trips to empty during your mow.

Flymo hover mower
Saw on Internet and bought same day.in shop staff were very helpful

Terrible and a time drain
Terrible cutting consistency - you have to go over each patch 4 times and it still leaves tufts of grass. And unable to deal with minor ridges in the ground, it gets stuck and you have to lift it. Would not recommend. Tiny collection bin. Too low, get a sore back using.

Hover mover
Great mower and very easy to push around the garden.
Mower
Bumpy lawn sorted
Garden lawn very undulating and this mower is just the job , although you have to empty the collection box more often it’s a small price to pay for a better cut .

Great Hover mower & excellent price
Bought last week end to replace my Challenge Flymo, delivered on spot on time by Argos driver. Absolutely over the moon with the results. Lawn looks great, easy to maneuver & the cut fantastic !

So So was hoping for a better mower than l got
Ok if ground is level, doesn't hover very well and needs pushing and pulling a lot when ground is uneven. Noticeably lack of hover when collection is full. Not as good as our bigger Flymo. Also had to go over area twice or 3 times.
Rusty
Great little mower
Easy to collect no hassel, cuts brilliantly stores away neatly just the right height

Bad Product
Cannot be assembled as tool supplied cannot shift the bolt

Flymo
Very flimsy doesn’t cut very well even on the shortest setting a little disappointed
Loz, 45 - 54
Cumbersome
I have just bought this and I expected it to be very light-weight and easy to handle since it is such a small machine and reviews recommended it as ideal for a small garden, however it it heavy and the grass collection bucket is small, so needs to be emptied about 3 times for a 12' x 14' lawn. It does however seem to be a reasonable quality product.

Hello there,
The Flymo Hover Vac 250 25cm Corded Hover Lawnmower - 1400W works by creating a seal around the base so it can hover properly.
If it's hard to push or not hovering, the most likely causes are:
Uneven or bumpy ground: the seal can break on undulations, which can stop the hover effect and make it harder to move
Wet grass: the supplier recommends avoiding cutting when the grass is wet
Cut height set too low: this model has the highest cut of 31mm and a lowest of 11mm, so a very low setting may make it feel more resistant
It also helps to note that this mower is a collect mower, so it's intended to be used with the grass box fitted.
Thank you for using Q&A.

Thanks for using Q&A.
The shank of the bolt is metal, but has a plastic cover. I am not sure how strong or thick the plastic end piece is.
I could not move the bolt with the spanner supplied, and had to use a much longer metal spanner.
Having the same issue cant undo the bolt to put spacers in had to put it away again now left with uncut grass and try find someone that can undo it that plastic tool useless
Hi there,
The highest cut on the Flymo Hover Vac 250 lawnmower is 31mm. The lowest (with all spacers added) is 11mm.
In the event you are unable to remove the blade bolt with the spanner provided with the mower then the machine will need to go into an authorised Service Dealer for them to assist in loosen/removing the bolt and ensuring when this is refitted to the machine it is at the correct tension.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Here is how I loosened the bolt - note I am right handed. 1. rest mower on left hand side as viewed from behind. 2. kneel behind mower so you will be reaching over it to the blade. 3. wear thick gloves!!! 4. rotate the blade to horizontal, grab left half with left hand and be ready to apply downward pressure. 5. put supplied spanner on nut so spanner handle is pointing right. 6. push down on spanner with right hand, whilst pushing down with left hand to stop blade from rotating.
