About this product
The Habitat Marston Bookcase keeps your favourite things on display while hiding the everyday bits you'd rather not see. It's oak veneer with a warm wood finish that suits bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens or home offices. Four fixed shelves give you room for books, photos, plants or decorative pieces you want to show off. Two sliding door cupboards tuck away paperwork, supplies or general clutter. The open shelving and closed storage work together to keep your room organised and looking tidy.
The oak veneer brings natural wood character without the weight or cost of solid oak, while the fixed shelves hold up to 30kg each for heavier items like book collections or storage boxes. Sliding doors take up less space compared to hinged cupboards, that's handy in tighter rooms. The unit stands 185cm tall, so it must be fixed to the wall using the included brackets to prevent tipping. Self-assembly requires two people. Covered by a one-year guarantee.

So, so flimsy
I read in some previous reviews that this was a really flimsy item, but the manufacturer’s specs said it could take 30kg per shelf, so I bought it anyway. What a mistake. This thing is rickety. No way I’d load it up to that extent. I would not recommend this item. And the shade is darker than it appears in the photos.

Great quality bookcase
A flat pack product but I found it quite straightforward to assemble. Am really pleased with the quality and look of the bookcase. It is also very stylish and modern looking. The only slight issue I had was with the wall attachment which included a thick cable tie & a couple of plastic fittings - I upgraded this to two small metal 90 degree brackets that I attached to make it very stable and safe.

The bookcase is not as described. The doors shown in the picture are completely wrong. It comes with sliding doors, which also means the internal storage area is about 5/10cn smaller than listed. Very disappointed. Theres also errors in the instructions.

Looking great, sturdy enough for the needs, colour as described. Love it! Just note there is no handle to open the sliding doors, so that’s a tad bit tricky.

The supplier has advised the Habitat Marston Bookcase - Oak height from the floor to the top of the cupboard is 54cm.
The internal measurements of the cupboard part of the bookcase are H30.2cm x W86.4cm x D29.1cm.

The supplier has advised the following for the Habitat Marston Bookcase - Oak:
To the top of the highest shelf from floor is 1560mm, 2nd shelf is1220mm, 3rd shelf is 880mm and top of the bottom storage from floor is 540mm.
Each shelf is 50mm in thickness.
