Lovely warm clean modern ivory colour
Loveliest modern ..clean ..ivory colour..it contrasts beautifully with fresh white ceiling .....took two coats with magnolia and white walls and three coats on dark red coloured wall...I just keep admiring how calming.. clean ..warm and cosy and modern it looks..it has honestly taken 30 years off my house ...i would say say it the prefect colour and very easy to use and nil brush and roller strokes in sight ..wait till she sees it ..she will think i got the professionals in...i was a professional painter many years ago though 😇....xx

I bought two of these one was fine the other was full of lumps tried straining it but couldn’t use it so a waste. Very disappointing

Great coverage
Bought this to paint hallway and kitchen. Covers really well and only needed 2 coats in the kitchen. The 10ltrs would easily paint 3 rooms with 2 coats. Its very similar to magnolia but less yellow and more tonal for what i would say is a more modern look.

lovely finish
Lovely paint by Johnstones, the matt finish actually has a beautiful sheer finish to it that isn't chalky or rough like some matt paints can be. the Ivory Spray shade is perfect in my livingroom, a perfect greige colour with a hint of green. Two coats gave an immaculate finish on previous magnolia walls which also had a lot of filler spots. I will definitely be buying more johnstones paint going forward.

The opacity of this paint even panting over darker colours is tremendous. Minimal coats, nice and thick and rolls on well.

Quality paint
The paint took only two coats to cover previous colour, it's very thick and coverage was excellent. Colour surpassed expectation, I would describe this as a light warm stone, but still neural. Fantastic value, almost half the price of leading brands.

It's sort cream colour, slightly more towards a grey/white than it is to a yellow shade. It's an ivory colour.

I would personally lightly sand the surface so the new top coat adheres properly. If you dont want to sand the surface you can use a primer then paint over it.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Johnstone's Wall & Ceiling Paint Matt 10L - Ivory Spray:
Its not possible to just paint over varnish. Due to the impervious seal varnish creates, paint would not adhere and potentially would not dry.
We would suggest the sanding to remove the seal, then a water-based adhesion promoting primer, then the emulsion paint can be applied

Thanks for your query about the Johnstone's Wall & Ceiling Paint Matt 10L - Ivory Spray.
This is designed for spraying and will be formulated accordingly, such paints being less viscous and faster drying than many paintbrush paints. However, this does not prevent you from painting it with brushes, you'd just need to take into account those differing properties when doing so.
I used a paint roller and brushes to apply this paint with great results. It's a lovely paint to work with and pleased with how it looks on walls.

U can with a damp cloth but bit of vinyl or mid sheen would be better to wipe

Its a nicer tone than magnolia i used it and it came out nice 2 coats tho
This isn't an 'off white' shade, it is however a lovely neutral colour that is NOT like magnolia. It doesn't have the yellow tones like magnolia. It is not grey in any form either. It's a cool toned colour. Darker than natural Calico. The photos I provide are in natural light and the paint looks darker when the light isn't directly on it. All ceilings are brilliant white. The paint was slightly darker than I thought it might be from the image on the tin but I am very happy with the outcome. Really stunning modern homely colour. Amazing price for the size of tub and quality. I'm painting my whole home in this as I am that pleased with it. Many thanks Argos and Johnstone's paint.

The colour of this Paint when dried can be seen on the paint can in the first picture. It is slightly darker than magnolia.
