About this product

The Tefal OleoClean Pro Deep Fat Fryer handles the messy side of deep frying with its automatic filtration system that drains, cleans and stores oil at the turn of a dial, keeping it fresher longer and saving you scrubbing. The 2300W heating element heats 3.5l of oil quickly, while the adjustable thermostat controls temperature from 150C to 190C for perfect results. The 3.5l capacity serves 5-6 portions with a 1.2kg max food load, and the rise-and-fall basket drains excess oil before serving.
The digital timer keeps track so you don't overcook, and the cool zone technology stops food particles burning at the bottom to keep oil cleaner between uses. The removable bowl and dishwasher-safe parts make cleaning simple, and everything fits into a compact footprint at 37.5cm high, 34.8cm wide and 46.4cm deep. Why did I wait so long.

Great all rounder and filters so so well
Bought this last week because I'm fed up of constantly changing the oil and cleaning my old one. Yes this is significantly more expensive but it's worth. I instantly put it to the test by pouring the oil from my old one into it. Then letting it filter, wow it was crystal clear one it had filtered my old oil that was full of bread crumbs etc. This one is a great all rounder. I totally recommend. It is quite large though so make sure you have room for it.

Unpleasant odours off this Tefal FR804040 OleoClean Pro Deep Fat Fryer - Black can be due to aged oil and/or a saturated filter that needs to be changed. It is recommended to change the oil or filter or both regularly. To minimize the smell, it is recommended to use an exhaust fan or open windows to allow proper ventilation.

The above answer is NOT correct. Yes you can switch the machine off and unplug. You move the lever to the filter oil mode. The oil will be filtered automatically once it has cooled sufficiently. No power is needed

Having checked with our supplier, we cannot give an exact answer as this would depend on exactly what it is you were cooking, your preferred/chosen portion sizes and so on. It is of course possible to cook a load of food in it and divide it into four between four people.
You'd need to consider cooking times for the different foods, allowing room enough for the items to cook through and it may not be suitable for all kinds of foods.
