Paint Burnt and Smoked my kitchen out !
This must be the worst gas stove kettle i have ever bought. Returned after 1 use . Not fit Not for purpose the kettle started smoking as soon as it was put on the hob, the plastic coating burnt off and filled my kitchen and home with putrid plastic smelling smoke that lingered for hours which you could taste ... Not Good at all, god knows what i was breathing in. Reported the matter but they didnt seem to care and just did a return and refund. Worst kettle ive ever seen , looks nice but thats about it . The paint was scratched on arrival had little marks where paint was dinked out of the box. Poor quality thin metal used, handle was hot to hold when pulling off the hob, i was more bothered about the smoke in my home more than anything.

Good Product
I bought this to replace my previous kettle after accidentally leaving it on the hob which l hadn't quite turned off. It's better because it's a smaller size so saves on heating too much water, it's nice snd bright and is well made and s good design.

Faulty kettle unfit for use no stars review
Should be returned to manufacturer. on first use metal collapsed on one side. Is it made from plastic?? I was expecting Argos to cease selling this kettle but still available to buy. Fortunately I saw metal was collapsing and turned off kettle immediately before it boiled. Bought another kettle similar price from competitor. No problem with this purchase. I brought the defect to Argos employee and she said she would report this. Very lucky I was not burnt.

An ideal kettle for our Rayburn
I bought this kettle to replace a similar kettle which had started to look its age. The only downside with this new kettle is that it has slightly less capacity than the old one but apart from that it looks really great on our Rayburn.

Took ages to boil
Had it on the wood burner took 2.5 hours to boil! Had it on electric hob took 11 minutes to boil! Was supposed to save electric but didn’t and it says suitable for all surfaces!

This Argos Home 1.6 Litre Stove Top Kettle has a capacity of 1.6l.
When boiled it will boil the entire contents of the kettle - the only way to boil a single cup would be to specifically fill it with only enough water for said cup, as there is not any other way to limit the amount of water being boiled in the kettle.

I'm pretty sure that any pan needs to be magnetic to work on an induction hob. I think it would have to be stainless steel. This is not.

The lid on my one is hard to lift off. I fill it using the spout. Much easier.
