Customers Say
Effective as a fan with some cooling effect when using ice packs, but noisy and not a substitute for air conditioning. Best for personal use in small spaces, with mixed opinions on humidity and noise.

Next best thing to aircon
Bought this in desperation when I couldn't get aircon and I have to say it's a massive improvement on just a standard fan, yes it's rather noisy on full blast but it works amazingly and for the price, quite frankly I should have bought 2 - very happy.

Cooks air as described
Pleased with this air cooler. As described, not an air conditioning unit but a very good alternative good value. Ice packs can be added to cool water through the machine.

Air Cooler doesn’t do anything
The air cooler doesn’t blow any colder than the fan function, have tried putting multiple ice blocks and ice cubes in as well but this hasn’t changed anything. If anything it actually makes the air stuffier so I wouldn’t recommend. Very loud as well.

Great powerful air cooler, a must buy.
I bought this whilst we were in a heat wave. It is actually really powerful sending a much welcomed cold breeze to cool everyone down. Easy to use, just add cold water and the frozen ice blocks that were provided. It is not too loud either, I was worried to buy it because there were no reviews about it, however I now love it and looking to buy a second one.

Great Air Cooler
Bought due to the heatwave we are currently experiencing. Great little appliance. A little noisy on the full fan but quickly brings down the temp.

I would not bother
Bought this last week and it isn't great. Small fan area and so noisy. It cools you down if you sit right in front of it but useless if you are more than a metre away. Remote control is handy and timer.

No different to normal fan
I bought to cool room down but doesn’t. Unless your sat by it you don’t feel it

Does what it says on the tin
Considering the price, I found this well made, a good size and good looking and it does what it says on the tin. And, a rarity nowadays, comprehensive instructions in perfect English. A couple of quirks, like for some reason having to manually release the pump to drop it into the bottom of the water tank, and some vagueness about fan/humidification combination settings, but nothing terrible. I am far too mean to buy an air conditioner so this more or less holds the fort during heatwaves. An aircon it ain't, but it does freshen a room just enough and the ice packs do work a little, but it needs both in together.

Didn't cool our small room at all.
Unfortunately all this did was make the room humid. We have quite a small living room and closed all the doors and windows as required but after 3 hours of noisy running, it hadn't cooled the room one bit. If it had cooled the room at all we'd have happily put up with the noise but it didn't. We took it back to Argos for a refund and the staff were lovely. Save your money, don't buy this

Hi! When you lift up the top part to put the water in, look at the bottom of it. Theres a black pump connected to blue pipe. Theres a little black thing you spin which will let the pump drop to the bottom of the water resevoir. It wont work correctly otherwise.
Press the snowflake icon , also you do need to remove the pump from the bottom. The short blue hose isnt the pump its the other one that is on the bottom.
Im experiencing the same issue even with water pump submerged into the tank, not sure if u have to keep it powered for several hours to notice it or the pump is faulty?

Hello there,
A full tank on the Bush 6.5L Vortex Blade Air Cooler will typically last between 6 and 10 hours of continuous operation when using the water-cooling evaporative mode.
Thank you for using Q&A.
No, evaporation air cooler
no, it is an air cooler and only slightly chills the air compared to an air con unit that will cool the air far more and require venting to outside
Because it thinks it is R2D2....
Bit of a design flaw...
You need to drop the pump to the water
Minimal assembly. Just attaching wheels if you wish to have them
Hello, I can advise, from the information available, that it is not possible to turn off the alarm on this Bush 6.5L Vortex Blade Air Cooler, as this is a safety feature. Thank you for using Bush Q & A.
