Cheap for a reason
Fairly simple to assemble, but quality in the slats is lacking. The fitment of them isn't tight enough so when you sit on the bed, they're a bit loose. I've had to jam some cardboard in the centre beam where the slats make contact with the middle of the frame and I'm having to jam slim cards into the ends of the slats as they move around as well. There was also a loose bit of metal inside the headboard which I can't get out and rattles every time you touch the bed.

Decent for the money but squeaky
I got this for a spare room. It was really easy to put together, 2 of us put it together but could easily build it alone if needed. It has a bit of a squeak to it and doesn’t feel particularly strong but for a bed that will be used infrequently it is worth the price.

These are designed as a single frame so would not be suitable to do this with due to maximum user weights etc. There would also be no way of keeping them together so they done part in the middle.

Double mattress. But make sure it a think one because the metal slates can be felt through a thinner mattress. Other than that you can put a sheet of wood on top of slates
