Can be used bagless for dry vacuuming, but it’s cleaner and safer for the machine if you use bags. For wet use, it must be bagless.

Hello Sam the Henry Wet & Dry Corded Vacuum Cleaner does not have a retractable lead please see - https://documents.4rgos.it/v1/static/8043454_... page 9 (bottom left image) shows lead hooked on the outside of the hoover. I hope this helps.

No it cannot, if you mean can it WASH carpets. It is only a vacuum cleaner for dry use or wet use, it does NOT wash carpets. There is a Henry that can wash carpets but its definitely not this one.
